This Cromer homeowner had been living with a cracked, uneven concrete driveway for years. Tree roots had pushed through the base, causing major surface damage that was only getting worse with each season.
We started by removing the entire existing slab, excavating the compromised base material, and addressing the root intrusion issue. The sub-base was re-compacted with road base to provide a solid, stable foundation for the new pour.
The client chose an exposed aggregate finish with a warm natural stone blend that complemented their home's earthy exterior. We poured the new slab in sections with control joints to prevent future cracking, then washed and sealed the surface for a stunning reveal.
The transformation was dramatic — what was once a liability became the best-looking driveway on the street. The exposed aggregate provides excellent grip in wet weather, which is a must for Northern Beaches properties.
