The Challenge

A narrow street with limited parking and tight access for the concrete truck. The driveway also had a slight curve that required careful formwork to maintain clean edges.

The Result

A curved exposed aggregate driveway with natural stone tones that perfectly complements the Cromer streetscape. The neighbours have been asking for our number ever since.

The Full Story

Another Cromer driveway — this one was a full makeover from an old, oil-stained plain concrete surface to a premium exposed aggregate finish. The homeowner had seen our work a few streets over and wanted the same quality for their property.

The existing driveway had a gentle curve from the street to the garage, which made the formwork more complex than a straight run. We used flexible form boards to maintain smooth, clean edges throughout the curve — no straight-line shortcuts.

We poured a 32MPa concrete mix with a premium natural stone aggregate blend. The reveal process — using a chemical surface retarder and pressure washing — exposed the beautiful stone pattern underneath. The aggregate chosen was a warm, earthy blend that complements the natural bushland setting of Cromer.

After curing, we applied two coats of high-quality sealer to protect the surface and enhance the stone colours. The sealed finish also makes the driveway easier to maintain — a quick pressure wash once a year keeps it looking brand new.
